I'm just gonna say this: If we want to live in a better world where people are more considerate we're gonna have to stop punish people who are trying to grow and become better for trying. As long as it's safe, that is.
Not saying people aren't entitled to their own anger or feelings, to be clear. It is your business what you choose to do and who you choose to forgive and have in your life. However if no one is ever forgiven or given support and resources to be better, we're do we end up, both as individuals and as a society? I think having understanding for where both you yourself and other people are coming from is vital.

Just bringing it up because of uncomfy irl parallells from stuff I see in the comments. Shima's "crime" is being a depressed and lost teenager who doesn't know how to navigate his feelings. That's not his fault, though it is his responsibility to work on it. Mitsumi doesn't hate him, far from it. She's the one who'll decide whether to date him or not in the end.

Anyway that's my little rant for the day. I adore every single one of these kids, and it's so nice to see them all grow.
