I remember Hoshina telling Kafka about a calamity occurring back then but they had someone to beat it so maybe that's how humanity survived for so long without proper equipment like now.
For people asking who, kafka meant the voice he heard before, when he went berserk. You know, the one telling him to kill. Also it looks like someone wearing a samurai mask. Im guessing someone who was absorbed by some Kaiju before in the le olden days? Is it like their conciousness like how shinomiya's father was concious inside the Kaiju, or is it the Kaiju taking in the form of someone he absorbed before?
