FL goes to give food to the poor with a ML(?) and a child comes up to take some food back. the ML was against that however FL argues that the children must be so hungry and starved that even if they eat their fill now, what abt later? which made him go WOW. because unlike the OGFL who he had taken with him before to give food to the poor said to a child, "eat as much as you want here" which may seem cruel in hindsight.
