Why do they have to end up together? Why do we keep romanticizing this type of pairings? I have my answer, but as I'm growing tired of it and the "unspeakable acts" become even more unspeakable, I feel the need to reflect on it.

They didn't say they'll end up together but apparently a redemption act for the governor will take place in S3. Better late than never I would say. I am still expecting a sad ending for this story. I am pretty sure the governor will die saving Yeonjo from some type of danger and that will be his salvation in the eyes of Yeonj

As much as I am enjoying the story these are very good questions. I'm very concerned about their plans for Act 2.

True even with the “romance” in the start really doesn’t change anything like the author thought it did, the guy is still a family murder and a rapist not much changed really hope they don’t end up together this pairing is horrible it’s basically pairing a victim with the criminal which both have a distinct unbalanced power dynamic between the two which will always make me think “did the mc actually wants to be with ml after all the unjust and inhumane torturous treatments he received or is it because he feels helpless against a politically powerful guy that he as a slave have nothing to fight back with this decides to give up and live with him?”
