Ok so, bit of a letdown☹ don't get me wrong I really loved charlize
I think the fact that it ended so abruptly was my problem. The story fleshed out the wrong plot points and then left charlizes growth to the last minute.
She was such a promising character and I loved when she started to recognise how she deserves to love and have connections, but the story sort of constantly keeps her family within like a 2 chapter gap just to justify all her actions.
Oh yeah she's closed off and using people, wants revenge and has had the most tragic backstory ever, yada yada, I get it. Its just the fact we never see her grow to recognise consequences and their effects UNLESS it involves a ml and her short bursts of revenge plot makes her just look stupid and naive, but she's so not
There was just too much ml relationship building, especially with Kihu, for the story to develop charlizes character, so she lacked a lot of self reflection (honestly personality wise too, both good and bad) and it made her look one dimensional when she finally started to love, or she was trying to understand her actions influencing things.
Because of that, the plot constantly reminds us that she's had a terrible, neglected childhood so we can move on and just say 'yeah ok she did that because her family sucked.' I wish it didn't focus so much on the mls and more on her, sorts of wasted potential for developing her story without doing so through her relationships with the mls.
