First off, it doesn’t matter if she ‘cares’ or ‘didn’t know’ he was gay. Making a dating profile for someone without their consent is straight-up disrespectful and invasive, no matter how you spin it. She’s still forcing her idea of happiness onto him, which is setting a standard. Just because she means well doesn’t excuse her overstepping boundaries or assuming she knows what’s best for him.

Everyone will assume someone is straight unless they'll show some obvious sign or come out of the closet, how can she be homophobic if she didn't know he was gay, if he'll tell her she'll know. She'll stop, and she'll understand.

Wanting to care for someone doesn’t give you a free pass to invade their privacy or make decisions for them. Naivety doesn’t excuse her actions, it just highlights how misguided they are. True care means respecting boundaries, not pushing your own agenda. I know she’s a flawed character with lots of room to grow (that’s what the author is aiming for) but you can defend her all you want; at the end of the day, she’s still in the wrong, no matter how good her intentions are. :)

She really irks me because people like her exist in real life, and I’ve met plenty of them who can’t help but mind other people’s business. They feel like their way of living is more morally correct and try to make others live by their standards. Gosh so annoying.
