Oh yeah it def is, but since Japan and Korea among modern countries are particularly patriarchal sexual abuse seems to be very prevalent there and sentences even when admitted guilty are laughable to say the least. I mean all u gotta look at are cases like The Burning Sun, Nth Group Chat, Telegram Groupchat, r*pe within K-pop industry cases etc. Like it’s a joke. Dunno bout other well-developed countries but compared to Europe it seems worse
It also seems far more normalized there. I mean, they are quite openly misogynistic countries, Korea even has anti-feminist protests. Of course misogyny and sex abuse is still an issue everywhere, and probably won’t go away any time soon, but yeah to me seems worse compared to Europe etc.
