Mild Doha spoiler

Unhinged Hag October 23, 2024 4:29 pm

Warning, personal raging rant: I don't like the FL after this point. Everything that happens is her fault. Doha's yandere self of course would've been a bad ML, especially after this point... but why wouldn't she have gone to a doctor even once BEFORE she leaves, since there was a ton of symptoms she would get if dying and she never gets them, doesn't even think to get one last desperate second opinion? Instead of dragging her ML into despair?

This whole time, she's been stringing along Doha. Maybe she lied to herself to feel better, but she knew. She knew his feelings were far deeper, but she accepts the various life-changing things he does for her without any return. Not to mention full on saving her from the edge of death TWICE and wasn'teven trying to win her over! He doesn't tell her! He wanted her to live, but he never gains anything from it. And yet she slowly drags him into hell.

The rest of the novel and all the various ways it destroys Doha while making him look the bad guy... you learn way more about him than anyone else, he has much more of his own plot line than either of the leads, but he has nothing but false hope and despair... and if you've read the end of the book, you'll know exactly what I mean.

I hate the novel's author. Hate. The story was decent, even good, etc. But it was like that whole novel was written to pretend it's about the leads, and slowly morphs into the author sadistically breaking Doha.

He never even defends his self, so everyone assumes he's way worse than he is. When you get more details from his point of view, it's just different. Not really a spoiler: at one point, ML attacks with the intention to kill, no questions or anything, and they both end up injured. The novel itself shows that info, but later on he's judged for hurting the ML. Yeah, I understand the ML's actions, but the ML is always seen as justified... but not one person in that story knows Doha's reasons or cares to know. As readers we see some of it, but not all. He's just a plot device.

I swear, the author knew exactly what they were doing. Doha didn't deserve that life.

Ugh I'm going back to reality, sorry to anyone who read this.

I lied, I'm back, the quietly-curing-her thing and teaching swordsmanship, teaching her magic, sending her jewelry and she accepts a bracelet from her friend zoned bestie who pops in to save her while in her real ML's arms? He's just continously making her life into something incredible, she gives nothing back, and the actual ML is just sitting in his office looking hella fine and with a sad backstory. He could've hired her teachers and stuff if he cared enough, even if he doesn't know then gee he sure has no idea what she does everyday... but some other friend zoned traumatized hottie is ditching work to make FL's life great. Without him, she would been sick this whole time and going off to die, but when she's skipping off of her own volition instead of trying to double check or at least communicate... we're supposed to be mad that the traumatized yandere wants to go with the idiot he loves?

Okay, my tantrum is over, sorry.

I'm sorry I haven't read this for a while, why she's being chased? I read the previous chapter and she wanted to go back to ml and she was chased and the priest helped her. So I'm confused, sorry.

    Unhinged Hag October 24, 2024 2:08 am

I never mentioned being chased? So you might be responding to the wrong insane rambling? But I'll answer as best I can- she was trying to get away so there'd be less chance of ML finding her right before/during/after her death, so she would want her trail to be hard to follow, of course. She thought it wouldn't be as traumatizing. BUT!!

Politics drama meant a couple people wanted to unalive her while ML was out at war and she was an easier target. With a couple fake whispers and hints in ongoing rumors, it looked like the ML was also after her. Which, he was, but not in the way it was framed by some of them. She thought he was also tracking her down to hurt her, in addition to the people who really were trying to track her down to hurt her.

And sorry guys, after this may be considered vague spoilers:

Our boi Roha was like "oh my <3 you're so vulnerable and I'm here for you, bestie <3" and obviously trying to smash through the friend zone barrier before she got back in contact with ML. He wanted her to lean on him for help because it was his only chance to win her over as more than friends. He technically helped her a ton on the journey/trip/whatever, but also purposely kept her from communicating with the ML because he wanted the best chance he could get. I struggle to fully blame him. Some was seriously wrong, but the bulk of his behavior was just childish "Please look at me for 5 seconds omg I'm right here, don't look at him look at meee" and I'm pretty sure all of us have felt that way a few times in our lives. This dude only felt that way once and clearly didn't do a great job with it.

But yeah anyway, the next arc or two made my fondness for the FL vanish like a puddle in summer. She acts absolutely selfish and stomps all over a handful of characters, and on purpose!! I slowly realized Roha was the only one who had genuine depth beyond the most basic set up. But the author enjoyed torturing him I guess and kept adding depth, but in the cruelest ways.

Ugh. Sorry. This novel is gonna haunt my psycho self for, like, a month. T.T

I know you did not mention the chasing scene, sorry for that,I asked because I know you were capable of answering it in details. And thank you so much, now I understand their situation. Gosh,I don't know what to feel also. Why's almost everyone blaming the priest when he's just there to help. Yeah,he may be over clingy but it's all thanks to him that she's alive, and I'ma sure that if Doha is the ml everyone will cheer for him. I don't know I'm not sure, please scold me if I'm wrong.

I feel bad for him fr. He deserves better. He could be a male lead of his own story. Well too bad the author has already painted him as a villain.

    Potatokun October 28, 2024 4:08 am

Damn this is so sad, so to summarize, doha did all the work of a ml but throughout it till the end, he never got his credit rather painted as the bad guy. This is frustrating!! I was too wondering that it looked so pathetic that ml couldnt even help her and a side ml had to save her life so many times, how on earth is he not the ml. He would fit as a perfect ml in any other manhwa universe but its own. I would like to ask just one thing, will he get a happy ending? Frlm the looks of it, it doesnt seem like he did or he decided to be the "bigger person" and give up for fl's happiness, something like that

Well, I mean, our boy does occasionally do stuff like coldly 'eliminates' small threats that probably didn't require going that far, casually forgets to mention things that wouldn't work in his favor, and/or a few times may phrase things in a way that isn't *lying* but is intentionally letting people understand it a different way. Even his most 'evil' acts are wrong, yes... but not worse than a million poor-traumatized-backstory MLs from other novels and manhwas. His worst deeds aren't much worse than the ML in this one- but for the ML it's "aw but our sad boi was just killing hundreds because y'know, no one sees him as good anyway. If his country wants to take over another one, then why not relieve stress with cutting down dozens of people every day?" Doha has probably has far fewer unnecessary deaths on his hands, but it's framed to seem more personal *and* we get all the grisly details vs dismissing them. It's hard to explain without spoiling anything, and on first glance it may seem like he's more in the wrong, but if someone pays attention, they'll catch details that expose that he was usually at least somewhat justified (or at least as justified as the ML).

Blargh, I'm awful explaining without spoiling. But also ya, I'll DM you a vague spoiler so it's not fully spoiled, but will still completely tell you his general "ending"

We're grateful if you spoil us about Doha's ending . I hope it's not the typical ending of smls like he live in seclusion and remain single all his life.

A different fan would have to be sent to save him. I ain't even the lead in my own life. That situation would result in my death the moment I met any of the leads. Probably worth it just to see a 'real' version of him tho

I'm trying to send you a PM but I keep getting errors. THANKS so much for sending me all that. Omg Doha ╥﹏╥
