Yeah sure. He can hate the surrogate mother as much as he want but what did my baby do to him? Did ever he harm him? Did ever disrespect him? All he ever did was "Empress that, Empress this" and neglected his innocent son. He's just a coward.

I don't mean he was right for ignoring his son, just that I can imagine his emotional reasons. Think of it in terms of a woman giving birth to her rapist's child. A mother's love may be there, but the child is also a reminder of the trauma of the event, and there would likely be resentment for carrying a monster's child.

I definitely feel that there are some double standards if it’s a man being raped and forced to have a child, versus a woman being raped and forced to give birth. Real shitty.

Of course the emperor is a shitty father, but he’s a shitty partner and being for a reason. Not that I condone his actions.
