tbh yall are just bores. yall are not understanding the importance of these situations. this girl is abt to be a QUEEN. she will face these types of things for the REST OF HER LIFE. they are CRUCIAL for her development and growth. yall want her to villain out but thats NOT HER. she is a PRINCESS through and through. hello, look at the title. a princess who NEEDS to learn to be a QUEEN. a ruler, a pillar for not just a man, but a NATION & surrounding kingdoms. the entire point of her character development is NOT change, its GROWTH. its taking what youve learned and applying that to your life. yall are SOOOO lame so criticizing her for being who she is. when thats the ENTIRE POINT. yall really lack media literacy & critical thinking. how u guys can read things and not understand or appreciate a single thing(the main character/plot)blows my mind

Precisely cause of what you said it's that we're frustrated. She doesn't learn how to be a queen she doesn't grow and honestly the way she has dealt with those issues is what make me feel like she's a bad fit for the queen position. Where this to just be a cute romance, like some commenters want, her lack of character development wouldn't be placed in the spotlight. Where her to grow and acquire the strength to deal with her position as future queen, then the story would make more sense. The reason why people are complaining is cause the story's tone and her character are at odds and it's been 50 chapters. Right now the one solution that would mesh with the tone of the story without completely altering the characters or remove the romance tag would be for him to abdicate the throne but they're likely going to try to pretend that she wouldn't make a terrible queen even tho the story so far has very clearly pointed out how she doesn't fit in that role

every situation she resolves is growth? she use to bide her time & do nothing. again, yall want growth to be a complete 180. growth is not change, its progress. yall want quick plot & immediate development. the title speaks for itself. does the plot include a romance? for sure. but romance isnt the main point, its a spark point. 50 chapters is not a lot, believe it or not. u just think it is bc the romance aspect of it developed at a quicker pace than the individual one. again, its a media literacy issue. when personality actually affects characters & the world around them, yall see them as some sort of villain or failure. theyre not going to be perfect, especially when trying to grow. theyre just trying. the "tone" & characters being at odds makes no sense bc it hasnt changed since chapter 1. i think where everyone is upset is the fact that they want this to be ONLY a romance where she changes who she is to fit a role to be able to stand next to a man. but its not, its abt a girl who grows into her womanhood, who takes what shes learned & applies it to the rest of her life making the role fit her. u doubting her to be a queen is literally the subplot of WHY she tries, like? (no hate, just frustrated)

No one expects her to "villain out". And frustrations regarding growth are pretty understandable considering in the story itself has a sort of internal deadline that is their marriage. We don't expect her to change 180 and she does her have the rest of her life as queen but she also has to grow as a person before that. She is being criticised about not being able to pick up on social ques like the talk nobles have that often have double meaning. Or the fact that she has been told multiple times to be too trusting (like she did when she followed sophia, who everyone warned to be cautious about, into a abandoned mansion alone) or be a bit more cautious of the possibility of spies (from the queen's attendant when they talk about a leak). These are sadly things that a princess must learn to defend before she becomes queen.

A good example to understand is the difference from her believing in her peaceful ideals and believing the maids are loyal. When the earl criticised her for being naive for having a peaceful ideals, her growing to resolve to push her ideals is GROWTH. That's her growing as a QUEEN. Something that she can spend her time developing and take years to make a plan to enforce this idea.
But her finding out that the maid was the leak for the fashion ideas was complete coincidence. While it was hard for anyone to pinpoint who the leak was, when presented with the possibility that a maid could be the leak (by the queen's attendant), she was completely adamant on believing that. That speaks to a more naive attitude and lack of street smarts. Believe in your people, but also understand that people in difficult situations will not always make the honorable decision. That kind of understanding is the CHANGE people want to see. You can't possibly get away with this attitude when you are a monarch.

I agree, contrary to op's commentary from the readers complaint. It's not like we are expecting her to do a whole flip of a personality and suddenly become a strong person. We want growth. Plus how come they show moments from when she was younger to be strong and upfront and only to then show us her as a young adult to be meeker as time goes. It's like the development goes backwards. I don't know if it's for the sake of romance plot like "the princess is weak and fragile so the Prince has to take care of her" cause if it's because of that people are really getting frustrated and it's valid.
