She's a character in a game and her ability is "Internet" which allows her to read the IRL internet full of forums and guides and cheats for the game she exists in, which is how she's able to get all her crazy items and stuff. She doesn't understand what the internet is and thinks that all the random people online are "gods" because they know all the secrets about her world.

Well, you phrased it if you weren't sure she was a character in a game and that they people online were players. So yes, it seems like you're doubting your understanding of the story. If you were really just asking if she was going to gain awareness, you should have phrased it differently, like "Why do I feel like she's going to gain awareness that she's just a character in a game?"
Dang I never even thought of that, I thought she was a reincarnated but couldn't remember her past life, mainly cuz she could understand the letters in the internet and thought of it as familiar, but your idea makes more sense hahaha
