It’s sad to see Rashta rot and die in this way because things could’ve been different.. But it really was deserved since in the end, there’s nothing that redeemed her and made her likable. Having a difficult life does not excuse anyone else from hurting others or doing what she did to Navier.
Really though, I’d put the blame more on Sovieshu for being a terrible person that started this clusterfuck of a mess to begin with. Even if you remove Rashta from the equation, there will come a time that the emperor will eventually show how unredeemable his personality is and will likely cause trouble for Navier.
