Honestly, for Cha Sungbin even if the trolls said the truth that he did say that, he was in high school, everybody says stupid sh*t at that time, he's a kid damn it! And even if he did say "yeaahh I'm gonna make them all fall for me~~" btch let him!!,
They're so weird for thinking that's weird and for drugs...brush Snoop Dogg, everybody loves him and everybody knows he's always high af. Who f*cling cares?
They are performers, you listen to them sing, you watch them dance and you admire the art, that's all. They don't belong to you or anyone else, they're there to do their job which is singing and dancing and Basta!
I'm worried about the depression meds, they call that drugs too, that's what's most scary for idols there, as if they have no right to be human and feel depressed. It is normal and should even be healthy to get those meds like that girl from 2NE1 she needed medical attention and the medics she got were from overseas, it helped with her disease but in Korean it was considered a drug so they jailed her and destroyed her career, all she did was want to live.
Edit: That's my main point for those who might have missed it, my point is that of humanity, now you choose which side you prefer the government or humanity.

Korea is different. Drugs is a taboo over there for idols. Your career is over once you get exposed or even associated with it. The punishment is also harsher.

This is probably due to the fact that their celebrities have to maintain good public images unlike ours. Their celebrities are seen as role models.

Yeah, my country is different too, it's illegal here to do that.
Though I was mainly wondering about the depression meds, why they made a huge deal out of that when you have ppl like Snoop who actually do Dr*GS and everybody loves them, even France called him to hold the flame, though Dr*gs are illegal there too.

I agree with the Cha Seungbin one. They were rumors, and it's not like he beat someone up or committed a crime. The sad part is that reality is much harsher with these things, and kpop stans are ruthless when they start hating an idol.

As with the drugs, I partially agree with you. They are more accepted in western culture, but in Asia in general, once a celebrity gets an illegal drug allegation attached to them, they're reputation is tarnished. It's worse for Korean celebs, their careers are over.

I personally don't mind it, but I do have a problem with how they treat all drugs as equal. If they are prescribed meds, weed or shrooms, it shouldn't be a big deal. Coke, Meth, Heroin are the problematic ones.

I like how you brought up snoop and the 2ne1 member since they both take drugs that are harmless/medicinal, but were treated differently. I think it's about their image too. Kpop idols have to maintain this squeaky clean image. Snoop doesn't care and he even sings about it.

Damn I'm gonna stop here since this is already a wall of text. I feel like can just go on about the issues with eastern celebrity culture and how they treat drugs vs western culture. lmao.

I get your point, but in that country drugs are ilegal and they are really strict about it. The law is there for a reason, so if someone breaks it ofc its a huge deal. He's gonna be an idol, the face of his company, and you compare him to snoop dog who is already successful when this guy is just a trainee? Okay if its a depression drugs or something, does he have a prescription? If he do, then why suspiciously sharing it to someone?

Also if im cmiiw PB from 2ne1 didnt get jailed, her case was just close and her lawsuit was cancel.

In Korea, you can consume depression drug legally, under a doctor prescription. If someone took the drug over the dose, outside the prescription, rather than being called out as "using drugs" (yk what I'm saying), these situations will likely be addressed as overdoses instead (not as bad as you use marijuana and stuff). Artist that overdose on med like this can still making a comeback in ent. Industries, except if you use illegal narcotics like marijuana, etc. It depend on your original popularity too, even GD, T.O.P, B.I (Hanbin), and 2NE1's Park Boom still appearing a lot after their drug scandal. Considering these manhwa characters is not even an idol yet, still trainees, the weight on those scandal must've been too big for them, you can't even continue to dream about being an idol anymore after this.

I think it's because the consumers of these idol's performances are mostly kids, underage, likely from elementary school. Bullying was already an issue in South Korea, there's even a whole documentary for it, bunch of kdramas, and a manhwa dedicated to addressed this issue. That's why even if it's still rumors, public will likely turns their back on you once you get touched by this scandals.

For drugs. There's a rumor about a big drugs mafia in South Korea, that's literally rule over the entertainment industry and even go into politics. Somehow drugs related to online gambling, and this is also a big issue (where underage kids are found to be participating too). Gambling is illegal in South Korea because it is one of the problems why the citizen's (?) economy is stagnant. Income is barely enough for them to live, basic necessities prices are high, but most people use their money on gambling. Those who gamble mostly in needs for money to buy alcohol and illegal drugs (because they're already addicted to it). And the circle continues.

That's why Korean always making bullying and drugs a big issues.(⊙…⊙ )
