MC & ML are voice actors. I believe MC is a well known voice actor and ML got into voice acting because of MC and has been harboring a crush on him for a while.
MC discovers a lewd comic based off of the novel that MC & ML are currently voice acting, and notices that the faces for the comic are very similar to his and ML's. And then when he uses ML's phone he discovers that ML is actually the artist that drew that comic. ML is currently unaware that MC knows this.
MC is kinda touch averse and keeps people at a distance because of something that happened in the past. It looks like a friend had confessed to him and when MC didn't reciprocate he was blamed for their feelings and then shunned by his classmates, basically saying it was his fault for being so close with his friend to the point where it made the friend develop feelings for him.
ML is aware of MC's boundaries and as much as he wants to push them, he pretends to be a gentleman because he doesn't want to scare off MC and he assumes that's the kind of personality MC is into. ML's true personality is clingy and perverted(maybe a little violent? and generally cold towards everyone but MC) but he thinks MC wouldn't accept him if he showed his true colors.
So anyways ML confesses to MC and when he gets rejected he tries to quit voice acting and run off. MC then gives into dating ML because he doesn't want ML to quit voice acting and he genuinely likes having him around because he acts like a nice guy. I'm sure he's attracted to ML on some level but he's just really awkward about things because of his past. He thinks ML is seeing a version of him that doesn't exist and that they'll break up once ML inevitably realizes that MC isn't as great as he thinks he is, and that they can hopefully go back to being good coworkers.
And ML's plan is to just slowly chip away at MC's defenses so their relationship can progress whilst maintaining his gentleman act.
