This part of the story feels super subjective because I personally really didn't liked it; *totally* felt like cheating immediately and felt wrong honestly even outside of the cheating. Just in general, BAD taste.
But I get why it doesn't feel that bad to others and even nice because they can experience each other again and in different ways. So I don't think you're stuck up, just a preference thing here! I felt the same and I'm sure plenty of others do too
Oh thank you i thought my "boomer" side was out of control today when i saw the positive wave ofcomments, but indeed i didn't really see it under this light. I think i really was hit harder by how they really separate the younger and actual partner
-since it's presented like they "swapped", not got"suddenly got younger", or that they "wanted the older one back" not they wanted them back to be older (I don't know if I'm making myself clear here xD)-
So yea, i think i too saw them as two different persons.
But thanks for explaining it differently, it makes sense even though i can't really read it this way (due to my mindset probably)
if i had to bring an opposite point of view, i'd say It didn't felt like cheating at all, i mean it didn't even come to mind before you started talking about it because, well, they're clearly the same persons!
The author really empathizes that point as we see them behaving in similar ways +, i mean, they've done it together before when they were that age!
I get that there were two of them existing at the same time, but it's too bad the author characterisation of their little habits didn't reach you!
but hey, that's life and that's it>^< there's no harm i mean.
Yea igeb0625 explained it to me and i somehow agree with [THE IDEA] Of them being the same person even though they're not. in the end, the only one who remembers the past time travel events is the mc, ml forgot everything and the younger couple too, thus they weren't the same.
or it was all a dream and that would make the whole thing more logical and his kinks more questionable.
But like i said, the thing DURING the reading that made me uncomfortable was their interactions (which could actually come from the translation) they talk about two separate entities.
Not "you who suddenly look 10 years younger",
but
"the 10 years younger you",
he right away said that they "swapped", not that he suddenly shrinked (or aged bcause the 2 couples reacted the same way) I know it's subtle but if you reread it, you'll notice right away.
Well in the end it's just how I felt.
I guess I'm happy for you that it didn't bother you, but it kinda disturbed me. At the same level that both these adults didn't hesitate a single second to jump a literal inexperienced and clueless kid.
So like igeb said, that's just not everybody's thing.
Welp, then i'm glad we had this discussion, i guess we just feel different, but that makes it interesting!
BUT YEAH i must say it also???? me when they both were okay with jumping the 10 y younger version of their bf.
Plot wise it makes sense, i see what the author wanted to show, and the sex scene was the perfect way to point out what was wrong between their older versions, BUT it's still ????
Cause, okay they fucked before anyway but ?? kinda weird.
Just because i see what the author wanted to do with it doesn't make it less questionable ( ̄(エ) ̄)
Oh i also perfectly understood where the story was going, but the process was... Ugh.
That's the problem, the only things that work with time travels are the paradoxes and shits that arise from it XD
I really think a dream would have lead to the same result and made the whole thing less cringy, but this is how the author wanted it to be so...
At least there's an audience for it, which I'm just not part of lol
I am the same as you. For me, our experiences are what make us "US". Changed one thing about yourself, and it's not really "you" anymore. But yeah, that's just me. I find it uncomfortable reading that I skimmed through it. I liked the story but I would prefer if they didn't add a sex part with their younger selves and just communicate with them because I don't think it's really NECESSARY in the story yk?
I absolutely agree. Communication is the key of healthy relationships but this is not a thing in yaoi lol... I guess anything is fine for most if the audience as long as they fuck.
Just not my cup of tea, and the censorship always ruins the immersion for me anyways, so i tend to prefer shounen ai. I can't really stay immersed when there's a hole in the drawing xD At least in no smut stories, authors find other ways to get the story where it's heading to, and I'd probably have preferred this one without the weird sex situations.
They both had sex at the same time with th younger version of their partner while thinking of them as totally separate entities... That's totally cheating or I'm just stuck up af???
I'm not really comfortable with that part of the story...
