And people around him think he's just that, but not knowing how deep the water actually is. It's actually pretty exciting feeling!

Probably because author didn't specify mc's goal or plan of action and we're not really reading from mc's point of view yet. I am here for the mystery and curiosity as to what kind of mastermind our mc gonna be. And tranquil personality of mc

I know MC's powerful, but why do I not feel that excitement like I do when I read other murim manhwas.
