i rlly hate to make comparisons but this is slowly starting to turn out to be a bit like lookism we started off focusing on high school but we keep going back into national level crises, gang activity, etc etc. i want ijin to learn about life, emotions, how to solve things WITHOUT violence and learning how to become a normal teenage boy. a good example of this would be mob psycho 100. despite having insane power, mob chooses daily life over psychic life bc he strives to enjoy a normal life without abusing a power that could grant him anything he wants. i can dismiss ijin using his strength as a mercenary for the ones he loves, but the author is setting up the same subplots up too often and its becoming predictable. "someone ijin cares about is in danger -> ijin enters mercenary mode -> ijin solves problem with mercenary skills" its nice to see every so often but its getting repetitive and boring

Most modern action esp with school theme has always go into lookism direction imo they like to drag it out without prior plot so it feels lacking frustrating as the story goes with no end i can understand you
