Been reading Sadahiro Mika since 2005. She's not here to please everyone. Her stories are her stories and her crude and ugly yet smoothly beautiful stories make her what she is, long before sensitive yaoi newbies popped up. I don't like these comments bec. Soany good yaoi were discontinued bec of these 'Im too pure for rape plots' comments.
Someone should give this user a medal(๑•ㅂ•)و✧One does not simply read Sadahiro Mika and expect a fluffy PC manga. I wonder if these senstive newbs react the same way to regular Tv shows like Game of Thrones too.
Wanted to add that this is part of the new trend of political correctness that started in the 90's by intellectuals and certain pockets of ideologues of the feminist movement (which I'm a staunch feminist but not an ideologue), that I personally support in theory and in practice when appropriate (political correctness that is), but that unfortunately has run amok reaching levels of the ridiculous in the socio-political spheres; the discontinued Yaoi you mention is due to the same type of "sensitivity" that demonized the romance bodice rippers of the 80's forcing women/readers that enjoy the romance genre into the closet and effectively either ending the career of many great dames of romance or forcing many romance authors to change their writing style to conform to this new modern "sensitivity"; talk about coercive censorship! So you have a lot of readers that feel compelled to degrade dark themed mangas with rape because they want to conform to this trend and present themselves as "modern thinkers", but most importantly, because it makes them feel morally superior to others (human nature at its ugliest). In conclusion, people that denigrate these stories think they are acting "smart" and it makes them feel good to trash others. The ironic thing is that as I recently elucidated in another post, a good portion of these detractors (because that is exactly what they are) are in the closet themselves, and while they are spitting at these stories, they continue to read rape voraciously. Just think about all those convenient tags with so much information that detractors choose to ignore again and again just so that they can have their two seconds of "distinction".
mad about the rape in the story
