He'd be seen favoring a certain noble over another and that could lead to a civil war if the nobles against him uses it as an excuse for him not being fit for the crown. He was only able to help because it became an international issue

OG FL was literally a doormat with no personality, he had no reason to help someone who, didn't even try to help herself let alone randomly interfere with a nobles house as crown prince.
