i totally agree with you on this one, can't we all just let jo make the choice to be in a much better environment than actually letting him be back to an addictive state that he can't easily break off which is that toxic lifestyle that's behind tj?
right!!! ian won’t get better mentally if he stays in the past, jo is a breath of fresh air for him and it’s safe to say ian has matured enough to handle an emotionally healthy relationship
i don’t like the “happy endings aren’t realistic” takes either (for readers saying this is why ian/tj should be endgame). imo it’s lazy writing to make a character who’s suffered their WHOLE life continue to live but wallow in their misery for the rest of it. we have seen him beat a drug addiction, get over the loss of his biking career, stay in a decade long toxic situationship and more… is a slowly healed life and stable relationship with someone new really that unrealistic lmao??
tj and ian outgrew each other in the worst of ways. sure they started out young, making innocent promises, and were soulmates- but it doesn’t mean they’re made for each other forever if all they have left is an empty, broken home. i really think it’s too late for them to come back from any of this, because the betrayals, events, and violence truly changed the nature of their relationship. what they have is not sustainable
also from seeing tj/ian shippers reactions of this arc on twitter, i expected it to change my mind but it only reaffirmed my bias for ian and jo? for ians life to drastically improve, their endgame makes the most sense. tj becoming the official boss won’t magically heal the decade of trauma, suffering, and unease they share
