he did call the police it says so in his dialogue that he called 911

he did cheat, that’s why they were arguing. For the last day of the mom though, he probably wanted to apologize but got nervous, and then the incident with arima happened and it’s not like he can just abandon the kid there to go to his wife’s emergency? he said that his wife wouldn’t forgive him more if he did

Dang chill man I think he dropped his phone he was muttering to himself after he killed that man plus I think he was tryna redeem himself even now his still supporting his son, I understand that anger you should put that to the monster :D
And with his phone broken that's why the hospital wasn't able to contact him either
But why was Taiga's father not calling the police right away after witnessing something like that? This is so sick actually, everyone failed him.
No wonder Taiga's mother said the she can't stand him. Letting her die alone in that hospital while he was buying flowers and meeting with other women..
