You’re right. Yumi is the type to stay no matter what he goes through for the sake of Kan, but Kan stopped the abuse cycle by pushing him away and telling him to leave. Since then, they’re never seen each other and it stayed that way for a reason. Nobody said Kan was good, he just did something a lot of abusers don’t do.
Yeah ig it would have been the best if Kan didn't hit his partner in the first place and just broke up with him before he started crashing out lol. Yumi was kind enough to understand Kan's situation and not press charges. Or maybe he was blinded by his love for Kan. idk i wish the both of them never met
Yeah, unfortunately that’s what made him a bad person. I don’t think he even thought rationally, you can’t expect a mentally ill person to think rationally. So I’m just glad he let go, even if it’s bare minimum. The bare minimum doesn’t exist in about 99% of abusers’ world.
Men usually don’t report abuse, especially if it’s from another man. Especially in Japan, and with how men should be strong or not weak. That’s why Kan didn’t report his own abuse, and nor did Yumi report himself as being abused.
I don’t think he was really blinded by LOVE, but platonically in a way that they’ve been together for so many years + their flashbacks to high school days. I’m so sad for them, they could’ve been a great couple or best friends to this day had abuse never happened in the first place.
I still remember Kan before he was a victim of abuse at work, and Yumi before he was a victim of abuse by Kan, them smiling in the picture innocently.
They will never meet each other again, it’s been confirmed. I think if they never met each other in the first place, this story wouldn’t be this deep or talking about abuse. I’m glad they met, and I’m glad they separated and never see each other again.
Both Kan and Yumi knows it’s for the best. This is why Kan said he doesn’t want to see Yumi, and Yumi knows why. In the end, Yumi is happy that Kan found love and so did Kan feel at ease a bit. He won’t ever forgive himself though, rightfully.
Yeah i understand that, it's just some people are giving excuses to what Kan does but at the end of the day he is a bad person for being an abuser in the first place. of course not veything is black and white, but when it comes to abuse...it's a serious offense. Giving Kan any kind of positive credit just seems wrong in my book but that's probably just cause i think these issues are very sensitive and i tend to feel really bad for victims
I get that. I didn’t see anyone giving excuses, just explaining but not condoning it. I feel bad for any victims of abuse, that’s why I feel sympathy for Kan and Yumi.
Kan definitely did some good thing by letting go. Otherwise the abusive cycle would’ve continued. Yumi isn’t the type to let go of him unless he is pushed away.
i saw a bunch of people blaming yumi for being part of the reason as to why kan turned abusive which i think is horrible to do. And yeah i sympathize for Kan but not as much as I sympathize for Yumi, as yumi was getting beat up by someone he loved and trusted. it is commendable that kan realized that he was being a bad person, but it doesn't make him good either. a
Pedophilia is just sick by itself alone, so no I won’t ever sympathize with that nasty pile of shit. I draw line and have zero sympathy for any pedophilia. Big time, especially because I have a personal issue regarding pedophilia with my involvement as victim.
Hated that dude. Especially the car scene where he I think, if I remember correctly, tried to touch the other minor. Blargh!
honestly props to kanchan for actually letting yumi go I don't think i've ever seen abuser let their "partner" go like that ofc we see his character deveolpement in the other story but i still dont condone any of the abuse that he did even if he was going through a lot but if he didn't push yumi away who knows to what point their relationship would've been pushed to or if either of them would be able to walk away without serious damage
