I think it reasonable why the artist didn't draw edith extremely battered like how the novel described, It can caused the reader to feels unease to see our edith like that. Imagined edith face like also make me uncunny, i love edith design.
I make a webtoon too, but i'm not popular, so i know how it feels when i have to draw a character like in edith's position (sorry for my bad English, not my main language)

    I think there were better options... not drawing scars and drawing a glowing face are too different things.

    It’s not true to the novel then and doesn’t convey the anguish she was in. The webtoon has changed so much of the novel that it doesn’t have the same feeling anymore.

    I think there's a scene where she covered her bruises with make up. There weren't many bruises even so it might hv been a censorship thing

    I doubt it since we’ve seen her covered in bruises on her back before. Don’t know why they hid it this time, where we should a person visually broken as well.
