So there is this super evil god cult that 500 years ago tried to take over the world and their evil god lets them switch souls with anyone so like you could live forever like this
but they lost the war cause surprisingly a huge number of people didn't like the idea of having their bodies stolen or them stealing the bodies of their loved ones
So they lost the war but because their leader switch into another body he survived and is still active 500 yr later and the cult is now acting in secret so
The fromer duchess, ludvills and ranias mum was a member of that cult , because the divine beasts pose a danger to the cult they want them dead but infiltrating the duchies isnt that easy thats why they had the mum seduce the duke and because the first born male (ludvillle) has divine protection they could swap his soul with someone else so she was supposed to give birth to a second child which would then have been switched
But the then truly fell in love with the duke and loved ludville so when she realised she was pregnant again she ran to protect her family
She was caught 3 yr before the story starts and rania isnt just swapped out she died and they are keeping the body alive with dark magic thats why that woman in her body is so desperate to get things done since its rotting away

I think it’s very possible it’s a cosette situation (I was the real one manwha) cosette is the daughter that appears later but her body was possessed by a demon after the original baby died,
OR!!! It’s a raelliana situation where she got isekai’d in (she as in the “real daughter”)
I also believe it’s very likely that it’s not the correct soul in the body (hence the IDENTICAL ghost) we can see the foreshadowing for this likely possibility by the fact that Zeno even said that no twins are that identical, and the fact that he even said him and his brother weren’t. Another “clue” (I guess) is the fact that the ghost won’t respond to other ghosts or human interaction, as if it is a shell of a ghost (the old soul that possessed the “real daughters” body before the new soul came into the body)
This is honestly just my take on it since most manwha go for the same old same old and I’ve read enough manwha in my day to correlate this one to other manwha that are similar, since no manwha is original anymore LOL
