The story regularly skips back and forth from the present (this chapter) and the past (most of the story up until this point) the chapters almost never state when it’s switching but you can tell by small details like if mo is in the chapter if he has more ear piercings/shorter hair it’s the future, most chapters where they go out (that Christmas one, the spa, and the concert were all present day chapters
Honestly I’m thinking of making a list of all the present day chapters I can copy and paste cause I see people get confused abt this a lot
