It's basically like storing human beings in the form of their consciousness, usually done by touching the heads of his targets. However, Lee Yeon can't store them for too long in case they got swallowed by his vessel/essence, so he would return them by tapping their heads once again.

It's for keeping them safe. He can absorb a lot of things, including toxins, but he says doing that to human beings is his least favorite because of the risk

Damn why did I just find out about this manhwa adaptation ajsjsjs tho I'll admit it's kind of a bummer that the part where Lee yeon absorbed euibin's consciousness when her trash bf was almost on a rampage wasn't explained properly. But well, there's still another chance for that. Oh, and also, it might not have been included but Hajin said it himself that he got hard bcs of Lee Yeon's face when they kissed lol
Anyways, the novel is so interesting (it has decent pacing too imo unlike the manhwa, which is too fast, but the art is pretty!!), I hope more people will give it a try!
