Lol I did the same exact thing yesterday but at the end I did read it all and I suggest you do the same cause boy is it worth it.But if you truly want a brief summary,basically Ines is living her 3rd life at the moment.In her first one she married the Crown prince,Carcel's cousin.But she ended up killing herself cause her life in the palace was hell:she was isolated,raped and insulted by the crown prince constantly,went through 4 miscarriages,which caused people to treat her like shit(we all know that women were always the ones being blamed for being unable to conceive a child).In the end,she discovered that all the miscarriages were the Crown prince's fault cause he was constantly cheating on her with prostitutes,which led him to contract several diseases that he still chose to ignore and still have sexual relations with her.That was the turning point that led her to her 1st suicide.Then in her 2nd life she woke up just a few weeks before her wedding with the crown prince.She obviously refused this time,fell in love with a common artist and fled with him.They married and had a child but lived a very poor life for 4 years before her brother found them and killed her husband right in front of her.They brought her back to her house and to not bring anymore shame to the family name,they wanted to remarry her and kill her baby.She ended up hearing about her family's plan and decided to kill her baby herself and kill herself again.In this current life,she woke up as a 6 years old and she's living the life you read till chapter 6.She chose Carsel cause of his beauty cause in her experience,all men were cheaters,so it made the most sense that the most handsome men of all would end up being one as well.Her plan was to marry him and then divorce him when he would eventually cheat on her.That's how she planned to gain freedom in this life and not suffer anymore.But as you can see she ends up falling in love with Carsel in the end.And up until the last chapter,she was the only one who remembered all her pasr lives.And now i guess Carcel does too.He wasn't very present in her 2 previous lifes cause she was married to 2 different men but they did grew up together,with him being the cousin of her future husband(crown prince)and all.So along the way we learn that he was in love with her even in her previous 2 life's and he's remembering that now.Anyway,you should still read the story cause the art is amazing,and most of all the storytelling is to die for.It's rare to have characters with so much depth.The author did a really good job.Besides there's quite a few *cough cough*specific scenes,if you know what i mean that are really explicit,which I didn't expect.So.if you're interested in that that should be an incentive to read it

Correction about the life she thinks is her second life. She committed suicide in the life she thinks is the first because her brother was plotting a rebellion and she didn’t want her family to suffer because of her choice of choosing the crown prince. Therefore, she killed herself to prevent her family from being destroyed.
After that, she regressed 10 years and the life she thinks is her second life began at the age of 16. The time was three months before the wedding with the crown prince. The painters came to paint and she decided to seduce/dubcon the young painter whose face she liked. She did not love him at that time. As the author said, what she felt was something exciting and immature. She had sex with him to seduce him and she didn’t even know his name. She went to his bedroom one night and poor guy was frightened and screamed out loud because she’s the duke’s daughter and the crown prince’s fiancée. But he didn’t resist the lust he felt in seeing her beautiful body and gave in. Since she didn’t know his name while having sex with him, there’s the line, ‘My name is Emiliano’. Right away after having sex with her, he declared he loved her.
That’s why when readers say Carcel fell for her body that’s ridiculous. Carcel was always drawn to her around age 7. He didn’t have sexual feelings for her as a little boy.
After that one night stand, Ines enticed the painter to runaway with her. She only knew him 10 days when she ran away with him. Author explains that it’s after they went through a lot of hardships together in their poverty and after the painter treated Ines the extreme opposite of Oscar, she began to love him. Since they stayed in the country of the rulers they humiliated, and all the nobles and commoners wanted Ines brought back and punished with her family who were considered sinners with her, the soldiers, her brother and Carcel were sent to bring her back. This is why Carcel appeared at the dock while she and her people were running away. This is why she asked, ‘Why did you help Emiliano?’ Carcel did it for her. When he saw how happy the baby made her, he decided to disobey the imperial order at the risk of his family to protect her smile.
However, despite the deal the painter made with Carcel, he couldn’t help himself and ran back to Ines. That’s when he was killed by her brother because her family bargained with the imperial family to save her life. This is also why Ines feels guilty over this timeline because she deliberately plotted to draw an innocent stranger into her scheme and he ended up dead and she ended up killing her own child. That’s why she hyperventilates and passes out whenever she sees anything related to the painter. Author said she’s like a murderer who cannot forget her guilt for even a moment.
In this current timeline, she chose Carcel thinking he’s a playboy because of the rumors she heard in the timeline when she was crown princess. However, she chose the wrong man to marry and divorce as the rest of the story will prove in spades to her. The upcoming chapters are all about her enlightenment about the man she married in this current tl and it will only prove to her she sincerely didn’t know him.
I haven’t read Remarried Empress since season 1 but I did read the novel and side stories. Makes me wonder where the Webtoon is currently in the story. I know Navier and Heinrey are probably married by now. That’s about it.
