If I was placed in front of the leader of a country I knew nothing about. I wouldn't take any hard stances either. Many isekais have different types of slavery including debt, war, and criminal slaves. Slavery doesn't mean the same thing in every country. Some slaves are treated like regular servants and others are abused horribly. So making brash statements based off our own ethics towards a person of power would be a rash decision.
