OK now that we've established this is gonna be toxic as hell can yall just get the fuck out?
Ugh let the people who want to read toxic shit read their shit in peace I can't believe people are begging others to drop it???? Like what's it to you??? Just drop it yourself and get out of the comment section
I came here to scape the webtoon comment section but yall are just as annoying stfu pleaseeeee it's fairly obvious from the start that the ml is quite the psychopath and how the story will progress
I hope the webtoon readers didn't scare the manhwa team into dropping this with their stupid complaints because it's been so long since the last update!!!!
A bunch of snowflakes everywhere I go... we used to be able to enjoy what we enjoy in peace I'm so glad you guys weren't there when I first started reading web novels and fanfictions on wattpad and ao3 and the first generation yaoi readers were safe from your sensitivity
Nobody's promoting toxicity in real life that's why this is a fictional STORY to experience interesting shit through the safety of it not being real if you don't have the maturity to handle that you shouldn't be here in the first place! I'm so fed up with the vanilla crowd get out please!

    Hi hello
Extreme BDSM, and non con enjoyer here. Just look at my already read list. 0 vanilla. So in my humble opinion: (buckle up it’s a long ride LOL ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭)

I say this knowing wat redditors say about how the story goes and what the ending is btw. It is the romanticization of this dark sh1t that irks me. It could have been tactfully depicted as a dark psychological drama and all would be great. Likewise they coulda done the whole dumb he raped me and ended up falling in love with him cuz he showed kindness/ took care of me Stockholm syndrome yaoi trope and it still woulda been watever.
Except, it’s pretty well written but in a way that frustrates the sh1t out of u. Cuz what insane person has Kyle but falls for ml? Yet up to this point, it’s not bad writing it’s just meant to be that way.

HOWEVER Layla’s character is depicted all wrong. First of all she goes from a bright strong character to a flat one whenever ml is involved, when they could have opted to give the character more complexity. The abrupt change coulda been done so much better and realistically because it is a real phenomena in abuse, it’s just depicted all wrong so instead it makes her flat rather than provide complexity or give insight to the abuse’s dark effects on her psyche as it progresses. It leaves all that work to the reader’s imagination and doesn’t explicitly give us insight into anything. Innocent crying dewy eyed love struck blushing little girl with a flat character isn’t it. It’s possible to be intrigued by and attracted to a manic psychopath, but in that case give explicit insight to her mental/ internal conflict.

They could have done this well in a million different ways, but they choose the only wrong option. Predator and prey dynamics could be really intriguing when done right. Yet again they failed miserably at depicting this for the dark drama that they want it to be, even though the possibilities are literally endless. Otherwise they coulda gone the strong resilient girl reforms the psycho and they fall in love route too if they had wanted to.

This story could have been so good but they really fumbled. The reactions are understandable tbh. I don’t need it to be the same vibe as killing stalking for me to consider it well done or anything. But they just gotta pick between dark and complex or flat and wishy washy, can’t be both at once.
I’m not upset over the abuse or rape or toxic dynamics. I’m upset because this could have been written as a pretty good story but they chose the depicting abuse through rose colored lenses and romanticizing it route.
