Looking for this manga. It's kinda pre-slash?
It's about a boy who can see shadowy (?) figures behind people. Those are the "real faces" of those people, like their real personality who can't lie. He's the only one who can see them. His best friend is the only one who doesn't have such a shadow because he always tells the truth.
In the manga there are different stories with different people and their shadows. (One was with a boy who's secretly gay and his shadow is a trans? and another one had 3 shadows because of abuse stuff?)
