Her red feathers means that she has the ancient Phoenix bloodline. I think she got it from one of their family's ancestor and that bloodline was just so rare that her family thought having red feathers is a curse. The reason why she has a strong healing power is bcs Phoenix tends to have that strong ability to heal. I just dont know if the author made a mistake orrrr they did it on purpose when they thought about regressing her, bcs in mythology stories phoenixes do not regress but they resurrect with or without the memories of their past lives.
Also I havent read the novel so this is just my speculation btw...

Maybe who had read feathers were simply phoenix? Probably ? maybe they didn't notice cause they never reached the perfect age to fully transform (if they thought this was a curse probably some of them were probably killed young, or just died while being neglected) .
