A question

So uh we had this transferee(guy) and we weren't that close until we became seatmates, he was like another friends and that's it. When our seating got arranged again and I was a little far from him, it didn't matter much to me nut he sometimes goes to my seat just randomly. We also started chatting like a month or 2 months ago, it was usually short but now he chats me randomly like 9 or 10pm (my mother confiscates my phone at this time) when he sees I'm online. I sometimes ignore him or just avoid him since one of my bsf likes him so I try to distance myself a little bit since I heard she was tiny bit jealous and I respected that and gave me and him some boundaries. Yet up until now he continues to chat me randomly or just pat my head(neutral feeling about this). Idk what to do.......
