I'm just gonna make a theory, since it was shown that ruby growing up abused in an orphanage is true. I wonder if pietro is so loyal if valentino also saved him from there. if he was also rescued from abuse this undying loyalty would make sense.

Side note, when ruby confronted her brother and he had the flashback to his father threatening to send ruby back if he didn't follow his orders I was shook. How do you go from giving up your freedom for someone to abusing that very person you were trying to protect??? I guess Valentino lost the plot and thought he can do whatever he wanted to ruby because he sacrificed for her. The audacity of him to be angry when he asked her if Iz was hitting her. He didn't see the irony not even a bit.

This was such a good example of some abusers not even recognizing how evil they are. And he truly thought she felt the same, asking her to run away and being hurt she didn't want to? Anyways I get the Valentino was forced to be his dad's successor even though he hates the corrupt church, but even though he has a mildly sad backstory I'm glad to say I really don't think they're gonna try to redeem him like a lot of writers do for villians (I hope). Can any novel readers tell me if Im right? If I'm wrong tho don't give me major spoilers pls
