And also there could be a possibility where when they could've been younger, knew he was bisexual, but told that bisexuality is not real (since theres a whole agenda of how only bisexuals cheat or how it's only one way or the other) and he was forced to choose to be accepted. Then, had to rediscover himself once he grew up after meeting the girl. It's not any different than a guy discovering he's gay or likes men when he's been straight his whole life.
