listen, I also believe the miscommunication in here was weak as fuck. however I'd be hella pissed off if the person I liked kept lying to me too. how am I meant to trust you in the future if you lie and dodge me like this?

He lied about having a sibling bruh they haven't even be dating that long to know about each other's family. He doesn't even make MC look stupid if MC all had to do was talk and listen to ML for his reasons instead of running off. ML's reasons were valid bcs of his family stuff but MC? What validates him to shut off ML tho lol
I think it was more like he was angry about the anxiety and build up over what he saw as a non issue
At least that's what would have made sense and what it seems like it was building up to be about until they kept repeatedly talking about "lying" after the fact which didn't really happen ?
In my delulu brain, I've already rewritten it so he was instead specifically angry about the time just before the big conflict where he was being ignored, avoided, and iced out (because, yeah. That's actually really hurtful and is reasonable to be upset about)
And it could be more of a moment where it's like "you would rather hurt me and push me away rather than risk trusting me"
It's still narrow-sighted which is what makes the apology scene (where he realizes that he didn't bother to pay attention to the ML's actual feelings and just reaffirmed every anxiety he was forced to express before he was ready) still so important
At the very least, rather than lying about having a sibling, it was the lie told mostly by admission that brother-guy was his sibling and he already knows MC that made him angry
What did he lie about? Literally nothing he just never mentioned something that was never asked about and mind you was personal to him. They barely started dating the MC isn’t entitled to know everything about the ML’s life ESPECIALLY if it’s a sensitive topic. Also how did he make the MC look dumb? By not sharing personal information???? The ML is valid to not wanna share that info yet and to shame him by calling him a LIER and running away instead of listening when he’s finally open up about something not because he was ready to share but rather basically forced to share is such a shitty thing to do. Especially when you claim you love that person.
The situation here is shit bc both of them have problems putting themselves in each other's shoes. The ML has interior complex so he decides to hide the truth from the MC, while the MC is "too bright" and naive and thinks that everything can be solved just by saying things out loud. Apparently they did not understand each other.
Its not just about one's fault, its that they do not have enough confidence in the other. The ML said he hid the truth bc it was about the MC, but at the same time he also pushed his own prejudice onto the MC, thats what the MC couldn't stand, thats why he has "his own reasons" for not seeing the ML. He also needs time to sort out his thought, whether he prioritizes his pride or his love for the ML.
