Did I skip Ellen's part in the novel? Don't remember that

I didnt read the novel but maybe it was a minor detail that can be forgotten easily or the author just wanted to add it

The part where she can use powers too? Yeah it was in the novel but it was a small part and really did only come up once(which is now). Something about not wanting to pledge allegiance to the pope or smtn so she doesn’t use it much i think
