Asian comic has been always a bit racist, that is true. They have been using stereotypes everywhere: black people should be big and strong, white people should be blonde and with blue eyes and of course they are always the cutest people in the world.
It is always like that. I do not know why it should be a surprise. If you like their stories you follow them. If you are worried to betray your inners for a fake story thinking that you will feel more racist, I understand if you stop reading.
But my question is, what is the point of reading it and coming here in the comments to say "it's racist"? I am still wondering about that xD
Because people can still call out the problematic behavior of authors and their writings. People are not very surprised, but it is disappointing and annoying to see writers constantly stereotype, brown, and black characters. That’s why a lot of people are calling it out because well not A lot of people really like to see blatant racism in store
Complaining or giving your opinion is okay, but ignoring them is even better. Right now, all things get famous on the internet if they get down votes or upvotes, just because a person was there curious about what other people saw.
But of course that is my opinion, I understand there are people who like to express themselves and feel free to do it here.
Since this stereotypical stuff (I am Spanish, we have our share aswell ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ ), will not die since it is a cultural thing adapted by asians, I just hope it gets ignored by new generations.
Thank you very much for your explanation :)
This story is so good.
The main characters are amazing. With a self-sacrificing lass and an over-protective man.
Her story is fucking tragic. People that say she's bland are so blind. She was groomed from her youth to be "perfect" by a step mother who obviously sees her as a piece of furniture. And, I suspect, as a trophy for her son, because that sick fuck obviously wants her. So. Add to that that she wants to protect her realm — and we have a controlled princess that has been moved like a marionette for all her life.
Then comes He. He, who, I think, was saved by her in their youth. I suspect he was a slave and it was her moves that saved him.
So. Loyal man that wants to rescue the princess.
I ADORE the way he arrived to her life to shake it all. Love how he keeps feeding her because he noticed how thin she was. Love how attentive he is.
Jesus christ.
I don't want to read any more yaoi-infested brains commenting wrongly on this story and its characters, because we seriously get shittier gay love stories that are PRAISED for the same fucking tropes this story has.
This story is great. The characters are well-made (so sorry if not everyone can see the depth). The art is gorgeous.
And I definitely NEED more.
