I gave in and bought chapters in tappytoon. Unfortunately if the chapter is on Oscar’s/ his sister / fiance i feel like i wasted my money

It used to be free but nowadays, they have been tackling down a lot of free novel translations so the only way to read this story is to buy the original (which is in Korean), or read it on Tappytoons (which isn't the most accurate translation but you can watch ads to buy some chapters for free) Depending on your luck, some people on the novel forum might be willing to share some translated chapters if you show them that you brought the korean novel but otherwise, your outta luck trying to find it completely free.

The translations being inaccurate in tappytoon are one of the reasons I don't wanna buy there I guess I don't mind paying, I just want the english translation from the past before it was deleted. Thank you so much for the information/advice though!

There are people who bought the Korean version and MTL it themselves. They prefer to read the author’s writing than Tappytoon’s abridged and watered down version. Tappytoon’s translator basically rewrote the novel in summaries and her/his own style. That’s why a lot of the raw emotions from the original falls flat. Of course if people never read the original, they won’t know any better. Even the R19 in their version is ‘blah’.

Once I saw an excerpt that someone posted on Tappytoon’s version where Carcel compared Ines to a sunflower and not only is it not in the original, that metaphor is something Carcel would never say and it’s not a metaphor the author would use for them. Carcel calls Ines his sun and some other people who are precious to him, the sky and light. Not flowers. Author also uses metaphors like river, ocean, etc., for Carcel and Ines’s story. That’s why the manhwa belatedly started to show the ocean in the story. These are all concepts that the original author put a lot of thought into for her two protagonists. Of course if a reader is only interested in the gist of events, then Tappytoon version would do.
