Honestly I think he died bruh. I think he drowned but the water lady gave him life but he can’t get his heartbroken or he turns into water cause he drowned. Feel like this theory of mine makes sense
he did die at the beach and the god i guess granted him another chance at life because i guess he felt bad for rejecting pado and he wanted to tell him his true feelings but he died so yea then the sea goddess i guess granted him another chance at life but every time he gets his heart broken or experiences sadness ig when it comes to pado he had to take the candies or else he turns to bubbles/seafoam
It's very mermaid-esque since they dissolve into sea foam when they die...but I can't tell if this story is going to lean in to the fantasy/supernatural elements to explain in the near future. I have a lot of questions but I'm along for the ride at this point!
