the exposition of the novel on WHY and HOW she came up with the decision is CRUCIAL to understanding and accepting her rationale for choosing that action that allowed her to fulfill the last condition
THIS PORTRYAL MAKES HER DECISION SO FLIMSY. And kindof goes AGAINST her character too. 'Coz, she's NOT that romantic. She's more of a pragmatic.
And in no point in the novel do I recall her going against her initial opinion about the opera.

That WAS NOT her train of thought.
This portryal *changed* a crucial part of her wonderful personality that distinguishes her and helps defines WHY she chose to accept death more fully
This makes her sound like a damsel FL blinded by love when IT'S NOT JUST THAT
They simplified in a way that took away a REALLY GOOD PART OF HER CHARACTER
