True and there are lots of reasons spelling could be bad. For instance, I have a form of dyslexia; I can't visualize words, so until I actually write them, I can't tell if they are spelled correctly or not. I can usually tell the spelling is incorrect once I see the word, but until I actually see it, I have no way to know.

Not knowing how to spell is not indicative of intelligence. Myung-il only finished middle school so it is not odd for his writing skills to suffer from that. Especially if after he's only been working jobs where writing is not a big part.
It's kinda sad to see people calling him dumb over that. Myung-il lacks education but he has been shown to be smart and resourceful in his own way. So please show some compassion if you encounter people irl who don't write the best. ヽ(*ﾟｰﾟ*)ﾉ
