In true honesty is only easy to find in japan since kawaii culture is so popular, but in most other countries it is super hard to find, best you can do is find japanese sites online that ship worldwide of ig you're lucky they'll be an indie shop on your country, they are not that expensive if you find the right site!
I figured as much. Stuff like this just isn't a thing outside of asia i believe. Even tho it's super adorable!
Problem is I have NO idea how to search for those shops. What kinda keywords would I even type in?? There's gotta be specific keywords i need to type in for these cutesy, fluffy, indoor outfits I'm sure. Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
All I'm seeing with a simple 'kawaii culture online shop' search is actually stylish outdoor stuff. Which i would totally buy and wear if I wasn't a scraggly sack of potatoes, haha. ( ̄∇ ̄")
you should learn how to sew! It's fun and you can have anything you every wanted. I'm thinking of turning this super fluffy blanket I have into a cute sweater. Sometimes I go thrift shopping in the XL+ sections (cause they have more fabric) and take those clothes apart and turn them into what I like.
Oh damn, you're right!
I DO collect fabric of the fluffy kind already since I plan to make plushies. So trying to make some simple clothes (maybe like the bunny outfit he wore at home in this comic) would be not so hard to make, given the fabric is so forgiving when making cutting or sewing mistakes. Fluff hides the ugliness. XD
I might need to see if i can do that. Thank you very much for the suggestion! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
I'm practicing them, yes~. It's lots of fun tbh, definitely worth a try and practicing I think. Especially if the plushies you want are not being sold anywhere (like a fluffy raptor or a fluffy but realistic looking corgi).
But I totally know that misshapen part of the process tho. Trust me. XD I tried my first one and it was so misshaped you'd think it was a dog toy that had been in use for years. Being shaken about 50 times a day and stretched beyond recognition. ( ̄∇ ̄")
I figured out stretch-y fabric and too much filling PLUS badly cropped fabric pieces are the result. I can easily fix the filling and fabric issue, but I also still have trouble cutting the right shapes.
I've been practicing with a method lately tho; scribble down the rough patterns onto cheap fabric, roughly stitch them together and fill them and see which areas need improving so you can dismantle it and adjust everything. it's a constant back and forth, but eventually you can fix all mistakes and THEN you can dismantle it once more and use those cutouts as base for cutting the good fabric and sew it together. Hopefully ending in something decent. :D
Some forms I try aren't managable for me yet but practicing simple stuff and maybe even altering free online patterns of plushies is a good way to start. Since it's easy to alter the base of a teddy bear to that of another animal.
So far I haven't managed much that i didn't chuck in the bin or completely ripped apart again, but maybe someday soon I can create one I'd actually put on display, or even attempt to sell~.
Creating these dummies, as I call them, really helps save money, that's for sure! XD I hope it'll help you create all the things you like~. <3
And thank you, selling stuff you yourself made definitely should be exciting. After all it means not only you as the creator likes it. And that's always a pleasant feeling. Fingers crossed I reach that point someday. (▰˘◡˘▰)
I seriously need to know if you can actually casually buy such cutesy clothes irl (especially the fluffy bunny outfit he put on at home) or if this is always just a thing you need to find specific websites or even shops for and then pay a shitload of money for the clothes. let alone have them specifically MAKE them for you. I can imagine that would be more of a thing tbh. I cannot see anyone buying this stuff irl so often it would make sense to massproduce. XD
