I think she should have started with smaller missions and worked her way up. So she could became familiar with the different creatures and the land. And be more acquit for such things. Also I think her husband should have provided her with some knowledge of things to be expected when he realized that she wasn't going to take no for an answer to being their mage. Though he is fearful of her getting hurt or even worse, he should put more trust in her that she wishes to protect what he's made a home just as much as him. She wishes to be strong for herself, her kingdom and her husband. I think he should honor that. But I think she should also respect when he tells her when things can be to dangerous for her, especially because she lacks the experience right now. I think they aren't communicating, but also communicating to understand one another.

    If I remember correctly they needed a mage she couldn’t start smaller because at the time they needed one and she was the only option though I agree Riftan definitely should’ve helped her.

    That makes sense. If that's the case, I wish he stop working against her and rather with her. This would make the mission ten times better. He doesn't have to coddle her, but at least give her some intel to prepare herself for.
