I agree but this is kind of realistic tho. Someone who is reviled and treated as second class his entire life is acknowledged by a beautiful woman who also has the highest status in the story, he would have like zero immunity to it. Its pretty much the reverse of the older romances where higher tier ML shows interest in average FL and she falls in love instantly (not a fan of this either).
That issue with having no commonalities is pretty rampant in all of these romances tho tbh, usually the two leads are useful to each other then fall in love due to proximity but theres only a few stories that show why the leads are truly meant to be together through their interactions.
Ok so I really hope Kylo builds more to love her off of than what there is now. Sure he thinks what she did on her subjugation mission was amazing, but that's literally one thing v.s. a lifetime of discrimination from her. It reads at this point that his ONLY reason for loving her is entirely because she's not a complete ahole to him anymore. “she's showing me a modicum of kindness? I'm in LOVE!!”
I just hope it goes into more depth than that. I hope the takeaway is that they need to find more commonalities before dating
