ok so its not just me, the characters and dark story reminds me of Hanningram a lot. I think thats actually cool to be able to see such a direct inspiration! I love Lance's design with the tie and the gun harness across his chest, I think its intentionally meant to mimic a cross. Lance's mostly black outfit with a long overcoat, contrasted with William's white police shirt is a nice touch. Lance is closed off and seems quite depressed, but its almost like a scared animal putting up a barrier, scared of being hurt. Black, he's an exorcist constantly dealing with dark cases, and often misunderstood it seems due to his line of work. Contrasted with William's white police shirt, no jacket to hide it. Like he's presenting himself as clean and even backed up by 'good' authority. Nothing untoward to see here, no black soul or evil deeds here sir! (Im pretty sure William Gilbert is the kid from the orphanage flashback that almost made it out. Seems something went wrong when he was being sacrificed and instead he contracted with a devil and gained the power the cultists were likely trying to gain. I think they realised this so they all went into hiding because he's way more powerful than he should be. Now he's hunting them all down, killing them and their family's just like they did to him.)
Im very excited about this series! I would love to see where it goes, the plot is intriguing. I want to know more of Lance's backstory, and more about William's psyche and connection to him. He seems to know Lance from long ago (but why doesn't Lance remember him?) and genuinely cares for him, but he seems blackened by his horrific experience and perhaps influenced by his contract with a devil. How deep/far will that dark influence take him? He seems to desire to possess and break Lance, but also wishes to protect him and would feel regret and shame for doing so. Honestly I hope its not entirely a devil's influence, I think its more realistic and interesting if he's simply been twisted by the scary shit he went through growing up, I think it'd be weirder if he came out of that normal.
