He acts like a fucker when he says mean things to our potato, when he’s pissed.
Really hope he falls head over heels for him and starts to really care and protect the MC.
My guess would be the difference in how JJ and him grew up.
JJ fees like he grew up being taught arrogance basically: You're always the best, others are shit, nobody is as great as you. Etc.. You're a winner and always will be.
And his skills and circumstances (or luck) probably backed that up so he had never to deal with anything new. Such as facing reality that he's NOT the king of all.
But most of all, he was probably raised like a fighting dog. maybe by a typical sports fanatic parent. So emotions, compassion and the like literally had no place in his life.
THIS dude however, strikes me like the type that grew up among the crooked crowd. Maybe just an heir to an already mafia-type family or the old story of a shitty home and the cliche of running off and being picked up by a mafia dude and raised to be part of the organization. Teaching people compassion and how to recieve kindness is really often not a thing in these environments.
So that would explain why he DOES care but simply doesn't understand it himself and hence gets annoyed and confused by it. Which I find kinda cute every time I see it in stories. XD
both authors write their ml’s similarly but i think the difference is that the ml here is he has the basic amount of empathy. he still treats the mc like shit, but he’s not going to rape him and verbally harass him like in jinx yknow. still both shitty people but the ml here has a small conscious
Oh well at least yknow. I'm thinking, unlike jinx...This guy actually treats potato well...? As in he doesn't screw him over, pour coke over potato's head, buys him food etc....It's just that he thinks like a fucker...But he doesn't act like one? Or maybe just not yet?
