I think it might have been a case of the game censored the conversation. I think the grand duke returned his feeling but that game told the MC the opposite. It is the only possibility that makes sense to my brain at this point. Hopefully this helps?
I mean sure but I mean I understand the before when it was just a game just not the present, I don't understand why the ml just doesn't say why the mc doesn't understand or smth.
I also just don't understand the ml like okay yes you have abandonment and trust issues but it doesn't mean that you can't communicate. At this point you'll feel better if you just explained to the mc whatever the hell you mean cause even I the reader don't understand shit abt how the ml is more hurt than the mc
