If im remembering correctly, she does leave and live with her biological family. The king stays with his real daughter (not the evil impostor) and he is sad bc he still wants Phil to be his daughter as well. Phil does forgive him but she still chooses to leave their relationship distant but atleast on good terms. The King still asks to exchange letters with her at times and she agrees to that (but Phil's dad hides the letters). The King and his real daughter get along well in the end.
