Rather than the father “can’t,” it’s more like he’s too socially/romantically awkward to express it to the person he loves. I can kind of understand that. For example, I have a hard time saying “I love you” to people I care about because, even though I mean it, it feels awkward in a way and I overthink things too much like Adonis’ father. The father probably had (and still has) low self-esteem despite being madly in love with his wife because he thought he needed to be in a higher position for her to love him, not even noticing or realizing that she was already deeply in love!
Both of the parents just need to sit down and COMMUNICATE! Seriously. The world would be a better place if people just talked things out rather than making misunderstandings (and assumptions about others) left and right.
But I’m not bashing the story! I’m finding it really enjoyable in a silly way. I agree that the MIL and the FL are an amusing pair! (≧∀≦)
You have a point. However, Adoni's father is the one who has to take the first step now. After all these years, his wife has given up trying to change anything.
She has now shifted her focus to her daughter-in-law. I'm not complaining. I love the relationship between the mother and MC. (*´∀`*)
You’re right. Open and non-judgmental communication is so important in a relationship. But it’s also impossible! Without misunderstandings there would be no more dramas and everyone loves drama! (。•ᴗ-)✧
what's wrong with the men in this family?
The father cannot show his love for his wife and takes refuge in work and ML rejects the feeling from the start. He doesn't even try.(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I love the relationship development between MC and mother-in-law (reminds me of mother hen and chicken).(≧∀≦)
