I think that kouichi did sacrifice his life and it is kinda unfair but at the same time he literally chose to go down that path, knowing the consequences of both him staying with the titan or him going to his world, he knew what would happen and chose to stay. Plus he knows how much the titans value loyalty and whatever else he studied about. I do agree that they keep going in circles with the egg but I mean if this was paced a little better and there was an update every day instead of every month, I’m sure lots of ppls opinions about the egg wouldn’t be so brutal lol
